T’AI CHI:
An Invitation and a Parishioner Testimonial
T’ai Chi classes will begin at Christ, Our Light! on
September 18. Join us in the Social Hall every Thursday from 11-12.
T’ai Chi is a low-impact, slow-motion form of exercise that can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance. Seniors who take T’ai Chi fall 43% less often than those who don't, according to the National Institute of Health. Participants can also experience decreased levels of stress and anxiety.
Parishioner Lisa Perry shares, “I was introduced to T’ai Chi at Christ, Our Light! two years ago. I find the class to be a challenge - not physically, because it’s a gentle exercise - but in mindfulness, as I focus on my breath and doing each movement properly. I’m now more flexible, and my balance has improved. Our instructor, Lynne, does a wonderful job of combining this meditative practice with our Catholic faith, giving me a feeling of peace and calm. She and her assistants work patiently with students at all levels.”
Even though these classes have been ongoing, newcomers are very welcome.
For more information, please email instructor Lynne or, she invites, “Just come and try it out!”
